@Alan Problems adding weights

I'm having trouble with adding weight to the skeleton, once I've smooth bind the mesh to the joints parts of the mesh wont move when i move the joint, I know its because its not got the right weights set to it but they're not showing up at all, so I don't know how to get them to show up to add the weights.

  1. I'm not sure what you mean George...Can you give a better description? Are you sure you are individually selecting all the joints in you skeleton when you bind? Are the joints that aren't influencing listed in he paint weights? Did you follow the skinning tutorials?

    1. Yeah I was going through the tutorials I started with the head which went perfectly fine but once I move onto the chest it It was saying the mesh was already skinned to something which was because of the head tutorial so it wouldn't let me add the upper body to the model. Also the joints that aren't influenced aren't showing up in the list of painted weights.

  2. Did you detach the head from the body - two pieces? If you haven't that is the problem..its a singular object....you only get to bind things once....in the tutorial they are two seperate pieces. Either bind everything (all joints) at once (because its a one piece model) or detach and bind the head body seperately.

    1. I figured that it was because it was one whole object, so I unbound the head joints from the mesh, I tried both ways detaching with history still on the head joints and again without the history being saved on the joints, I then selected all joints to bind everything at once but it gave me whats its currently at with joints that aren't bound to anything
